Plaid helps you securely connect your bank account to apps and services you choose to use. If you got a text, email, or notification from Plaid, it is usually because you started this process in an app and still need to finish a step.
Why Plaid may contact you
You may hear from Plaid when:
- You started connecting your account to an app
- An app asked you to finish setting up your account
- You need to complete a step, like verifying your information
- Your account has been successfully linked to an application
What kinds of messages you might get
- In-app notifications: Secure messages inside an app you are already using
- Text messages: A link or code to continue connecting your account
- Emails: Instructions or reminders to complete setup or confirming your account has been connected via Plaid
Some messages may ask you to log in. Others may help with simple steps, like confirming microdeposits.
How to tell if a message is really from Plaid
- Make sure it was expected: Only act on messages if you recently tried to connect an account
- Check the link: Official Plaid links start with my.plaid.com, secure.plaid.com, or verify.plaid.com
- Check the sender: Emails from Plaid come from Plaid <noreply@plaid.com> or texts from 75243 (PLAID)
Important security tips
- Never share your one-time passcode (OTP): Plaid will never ask for it by phone, text, or email
- Be careful with unexpected messages: If you did not request it, do not click the link
- When in doubt, go back to the app:You can safely continue the process there
Still need help?
If you received a code you did not request, see our article about unexpected one-time passcodes.
