You’re in control of your connections with Plaid. If you delete a financial account in Plaid Portal, we’ll remove the account data from our systems and stop sharing any new information with connected apps.
Here’s how to do it:
- Log in to your Plaid Portal.
- Select Accounts from the menu.
- Click on the name of the financial institution you’d like to remove.
- Select Delete from Plaid.
- Review what deleting means for your data and click Continue.
- Check for any connected apps. If you’re ready, click Continue.

Type delete when prompted, then select Delete data from Plaid.
Tip: Once you delete an account, apps won't get new data from Plaid. If you change your mind later, you can always reconnect your account.
Please note: This action does not remove data from third-party applications or remove payment authorization. Please reach out to the apps/services you are removing within Plaid Portal to have your data completely deleted from their systems.
