If you no longer wish for a particular app to be able to access your data via Plaid, you can stop an app from accessing your financial data at any time using the Plaid Portal.
Before You Start
Disconnecting an app stops future data sharing only. The app may still keep data it has already collected. To delete that data, contact the app directly.
- Log in to your Plaid Portal account
- Open the Overview tab and select the app you want to manage
- Scroll down to Manage connections
- Select Disconnect app
- Review what happens when you disconnect
- Select the financial institution and click Disconnect to confirm
After you disconnect, the app will no longer be able to access your data through Plaid, and you may lose features that rely on your financial information.
If you’re not able to remove a connection via Plaid Portal, you can submit a Privacy Request Form.
Keep in mind that this does not delete data the app may have already stored, so you may also need to contact the app directly. If you decide to reconnect later, you can do so anytime from within the app.
