Passport allows you to create an account with Plaid based on your saved identity and financial data. You can then choose to use your Plaid account with Plaid Check, our consumer reporting agency, to verify your income or qualify for loan offers from different companies.
Here’s how it works:
- As part of the experience of connecting your account, you will be prompted to input your phone number so you can connect faster next time.
- Once entered, you’ll need to verify your phone number by entering a one-time passcode sent to your device.
- After your phone number is verified, you’ll proceed with selecting your financial institution and connecting your account. Your identity and financial data will then be part of your account profile with Plaid.
- The next time you return to another Plaid Passport-powered app or service, you will need to pass security checks in order to receive a streamlined experience when using your Plaid account.
Once you create an account with Plaid, you have control over how your data is used and whether to delete it. If you would like to delete your information, please submit a request via the Plaid Check Consumer Service Center (for Plaid Check). If you had previously connected your account via Plaid Inc, you can request to delete your information via our Privacy Request Form.
Visit the Your Data Protection Rights section of our End User Privacy Policy to see what data protection rights may apply to your use of Plaid. We value the privacy of those who provide personal information to us. To respond to your request for assistance, we may require additional information to verify your identity.
