A Plaid account is a free profile that saves the financial institutions you connect through Plaid, so you can connect faster in the future. It also unlocks a few additional features:
- Fraud alerts: For eligible accounts, Plaid monitors for activity that looks suspicious and emails you when something needs a closer look.
- Cashflow-based access: When you apply for a service with a Plaid credit partner, your saved accounts can be used for cashflow analysis to help you qualify.
How did I get a Plaid account?
You created it when you connected your financial institution through Plaid to use an app or service. On the first connection screen, you entered your phone number or email address and chose to save your bank information with Plaid.
What does my Plaid account do?
Faster connections. Plaid remembers the accounts you've saved. The next time an app asks you to connect that saved account through Plaid, you may not need to sign in to your bank again.
Fraud and security alerts. For eligible accounts where you choose to receive fraud alerts, Plaid monitors activity on your saved accounts. If we see something suspicious, we email you details so you can check it with your financial institution.
Credit services. When you apply for a service with a partner that uses one of Plaid’s credit solutions, your Plaid account provides cashflow analysis using your saved accounts to help you access the partner’s service.
Does it cost anything?
No. Your Plaid account and its alerts are free. If your saved accounts are eligible, alerts turn on automatically. There's nothing to set up.
How do I sign in?
You don't need to sign in to get alerts. They arrive by email. To see or manage your connections, go to Plaid Portal at my.plaid.com.
What should I do if I get an alert?
Read the details in the email. If you don't recognize the activity, contact your financial institution directly.
Plaid will never ask for your bank password, PIN, or one-time codes by email. Plaid account alerts come from noreply@plaid.com.
Does Plaid share my information?
Plaid shares your information only with the apps and services you give permission to. You choose which accounts to connect and save, and you can disconnect them at any time. To see how Plaid handles your information, read the Plaid End User Privacy Policy.
How do I disconnect an account, stop alerts, or delete my Plaid account?
To stop alert emails, click Unsubscribe at the bottom of the alert email.
