Latest update
On June 12, 2023, our team was made aware of access issues affecting our Navy Federal Credit Union (NFCU) connections. This was a result of a technical misconfiguration that required input from our contacts at NFCU to address. As of 9:00 AM (PT) on June 13, 2023, NFCU and Plaid were able to implement an interim solution and we are seeing successful connections once again.
While we work towards a long-term solution with NFCU, there may be intermittent issues affecting user connections. If you run into any issues, please see our guidance for troubleshooting our most common error messages.
Additionally, please be advised that NFCU has new password requirements when connecting accounts to external services, such as Plaid. You will need to ensure your password contains at least 8 characters and doesn’t include any of the following special characters: &*()<>.
If you have any questions or need additional guidance regarding your connection, we recommend reaching out to the app or service where you’re attempting to reconnect your NFCU account. They can look up your account in their system and investigate all corresponding connection attempts via Plaid.
Previous update
On May 16, 2023, Navy Federal Credit Union (NFCU) made technical changes to their online banking platform resulting in all NFCU customers needing to re-authenticate via Plaid in order to maintain ongoing access to connected apps.
If you had an existing Plaid connection between your NFCU account and a financial app or service, that financial app or service should be prompting you within their mobile app or website to re-enter your NFCU online banking credentials via Plaid in the coming days.
